It’s been confirmed that Woody Harrelson will star in the upcoming Star Wars spin-off movie about a young Han Solo.
Harrelson, known for roles in film and TV such as The Hunger Games, Anger Management, Cheers, and Zombieland, will join actors Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, and Emilia Clarke in the adventure.
This Star Wars Story is to be set during the early days of the iconic characters lives, prior to A New Hope and is the second in a series of films that live outside the Skywalker family saga.
The film’s directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller confirmed the news earlier today (January 11th) saying “We couldn’t be more excited to work with an artist with as much depth and range as Woody.”
“His ability to find both humour and pathos, often in the same role, is truly unique. He is also very good at ping pong.”
Alden Ehrenreich will play the lead role of a young Han Solo, Donald Glover, also known as rapper Childish Gambino, will play Lando Calrissian.
Hunger Games star Clarke’s role is yet to be revealed.
Details of the movie are being kept unwraps, though we do know that the story will focus on the early days of Solo’s adventures with Chewie and Lando, several years before he encountered Luke Skywalker and joined the galactic Rebellion.
